Southern Classic

For this series of articles, we will examine a number of buildings / residences that I will call, “Southern Classic”. The goal is to get to an understanding of the iconic southern building with a view toward being able to apply the style toward the design of other buildings.

Exterior Color choices:

  • Painted White
  • Red / Clay Brick
  • Black Shutters

Exterior Design Features:

  • Two Stories
  • Balustrade
  • Raised off of the ground
  • Porch
    • 6 to 8 feet deep; possibly 10
  • Classical Order
    • Doric Columns
